Black Power at Ole Miss Task Force
University of Mississippi

The Black Power at Ole Miss Task Force is driven:

  1. to tell the story of the 1970 protest and of the university’s reaction to the students who participated.
  2. to guide repair with the students expelled and jailed in 1970 and their families.
  3. to acknowledge the extended history of Black activism on this campus, reaching both before and after the 1970 event
  4. to build and maintain honest relationships with all Black alumni.

To meet these goals, we have created three subcommittees:

  1. Historical Documentation Subcommittee
  2. Outreach/Engagement Subcommittee
  3. Reparations Subcommittee
